This project involved the phased transformation of a café into a new street food venue, alongside a programme of structural, electrical and maintenance works carried out over several visits. The client is a returning customer whom we have completed multiple projects for, and they have continued to trust us to manage their building works as the business has grown and evolved.
The Project
The aim of the project was to reconfigure and modernise the café, improving the layout and creating new features to support its repositioning as a street food destination. Across our involvement, the focus has been on adapting the space to meet the practical demands of the kitchen while keeping the café fully operational and presented to a high standard for customers.
One of the key structural changes involved creating a stud wall to separate the kitchen from the main café area, improving workflow and creating a clear division between food preparation and front-of-house. More recently, we blocked up the windows to the rear of the premises to help create a new area with additional features, taking the café in an exciting new direction.
Throughout, the works have been carefully phased around the café’s trading hours, allowing the business to keep serving customers while improvements take shape in the background. Adapting a live, working kitchen brings its own challenges, and our team has approached each stage with a practical, problem-solving mindset — fitting in around the day-to-day running of the café and responding to the client’s evolving vision as the concept has taken shape.
Scope of Works
Our work began with structural alterations and has continued through a range of electrical and maintenance tasks, allowing the café to develop in stages without disrupting day-to-day trading. Each phase has been managed in-house to deliver a high-quality, reliable finish throughout.
